Village at a glance
OVERVIEW:
The Village area is located conveniently with direct access to the Tlokweng border post to South Africa. Being one of the oldest parts of the City, the Village boasts lovely large, established plots in a very relaxed environment. The Village was the original administrative centre, once housing the old fort and in 1966 became a suburb of the capital, Gaborone. The areas first post office and the magistrate's court. The area is in a fantastic location with easy access to the City centre, Fairgrounds and Commerce Park. Several plots have been rezoned and now used as offices, doctors' rooms and bed and breakfast accommodation.
With Fairgrounds office park, Riverwalk shopping mall and Village Plaza all within walking distance, the Village is a great location to live and work.

RESIDENTIAL CHARACTERISTICS:
The suburb of the Village is characterized by large, mature, and leafy plots. Several of these plots have been redeveloped to now feature multi-residential housing and large family homes. However, many of the original properties are still found, and highly sought after. Due to the size of plots and the fantastic location, the value of land in the Village is generally higher than most areas in the City.
The area also boasts lovely multi-residential housing and apartments, all offering the perfect lifestyle for young families or first-time home buyers. These apartments are also very popular with people working in Botswana on short-term contracts.
COMMERCIAL CHARACTERISTICS:
The commercial offerings in the area are characterized by modern and unique office blocks in Fairgrounds office park. It is here that several large, international companies have based their offices. There are also several smaller office units available for smaller enterprise and shared facilities. Certain properties within the Village have been rezoned and are now used as office space, allowing them easy access and a tranquil work environment.
The Village neighbours the suburb of Tlokweng where more industrial and larger commercial businesses are found, again with direct access to the Tlokweng border post.
